terms of service

Last updated

the short version

  • You must be 18 or over, use your real identity, and be verified with Aadhaar and a live selfie.
  • Be kind, be honest, meet safely. Harassment or threats mean immediate suspension while a person reviews.
  • SOS and check-ins help — they don't replace calling 112 in an emergency.
  • You own what you post. You can delete your account anytime.

1. These terms

These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and SwipeTrip. By creating an account or using the app or website, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use SwipeTrip.

2. Who can use SwipeTrip

  • You are at least 18 years old and legally able to enter this agreement.
  • You have an Indian mobile number and a working email address, and you verify both.
  • You use your real name, real photos of yourself and your own Aadhaar.
  • You have only one account, and you haven't been removed from SwipeTrip before.
  • You are not prohibited by law from using the service, and you have not been convicted of a sexual or violent offence.

3. Verification

Every member must be verified before they can be seen, and each person may have only one account. You'll photograph your Aadhaar (front and back) and take a live selfie in the app; we check them automatically and a member of our team reviews them, including a face match against other accounts to find duplicates. We may ask you to verify again later (for example on a new phone or every few months), and we may refuse or remove verification if something doesn't match. Verification confirms identity and age — it is not a background check, and it does not guarantee anyone's behaviour.

4. Your account

You sign in with your phone number and a one-time code. Keep your phone and email secure; you're responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has accessed it. Sessions stay signed in for up to a year of inactivity so you're not logged out mid-trip; you can sign out of a device anytime.

5. How SwipeTrip works

SwipeTrip shows you trips with people who travel like you, in two modes — travel dating and travel buddy. When two people both say "i'd go", they match and have 72 hours to agree a plan; if neither proposes one, the match expires. Daily limits, features and matching may change as we improve the service.

6. Meeting people and safety

Most people you'll meet are great — but you are responsible for your own safety and decisions. Meet in public, busy places first, tell someone you trust, keep your own way home and money, and leave anytime.

  • SOS, check-ins and live location are tools to help — they are not an emergency service and can fail (no signal, flat battery, an outage). In danger, call 112 first.
  • We don't run criminal background checks, and we can't verify everything a member tells you.
  • Trips are arranged between members. SwipeTrip isn't a travel agent or a party to any booking, payment or arrangement between members, except for events we clearly host ourselves.

7. Community rules

Don't:

  • harass, threaten, stalk, bully or intimidate anyone, online or in person;
  • pretend to be someone else, use someone else's photos or ID, or misstate your age;
  • share sexual content without consent, or any content involving minors;
  • post hate speech, or content that is violent, illegal or defamatory;
  • solicit money, sell products or services, or offer or seek paid sexual services;
  • share another person's private information without their permission;
  • use bots, scrape the service, or try to break its security;
  • create a new account after being removed.

Photos and messages may be moderated automatically before they are delivered.

8. Your content

You own the photos, text and other content you post. You give SwipeTrip a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and process it only to run and improve the service — for example, showing your profile to matches. A trip story is shared outside the app only if everyone in it approves. We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law.

9. Reports, suspension and removal

You can report or block anyone, privately — they're never told who reported them. Reports of harassment or safety threats lead to immediate suspension of the reported account while a person reviews (usually within 24–48 hours). We may warn, restrict, suspend or remove accounts that break these terms or put others at risk, and we may share information with the police where the law requires or someone is in danger. You can appeal a decision by writing to us.

11. Leaving SwipeTrip

You can delete your account anytime in the app. Your profile is hidden immediately and your data is permanently deleted after 30 days, except what we must keep as described in the Privacy Policy. Log back in within those 30 days to cancel.

12. Disclaimers and liability

We work hard to keep SwipeTrip safe and available, but it is provided "as is". To the extent Indian law allows, SwipeTrip isn't liable for the conduct of members on or off the app, or for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

You agree to compensate SwipeTrip for losses caused by your breach of these terms or misuse of the service, to the extent the law allows.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app before it applies and ask you to accept the new version.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact us first — most problems are solved quickly. Any dispute that remains will be decided by the competent courts in India.
